SBUK Hosts the South African Ambassador

As reported by the public relations, as a tribute to the day of mining and industry, SBUK hosted the ambassador of South Africa. This meeting was a good opportunity for bilateral cooperation and exchange of information in research and science and also mining and industry.

 

 

At first, Dr. Taher welcomed Mr. Whitehead and noted the similarities between Iran and the South Africa, one of which is the fight against global arrogance. He also paid tribute to he late leader of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. 

  Then, introducing university he said that SBUK has a great potential for educational and research cooperation with renowned universities of world and has also signed MOUs with some of them.

 

 

Mining, agriculture and water and their relevant research could be the areas of negotiation for SBUK and South Africa, said Dr. Taher. He also continued: Kerman is called the heaven of mines in the country and also the Second India in terms of agriculture in south of Iran. We have all climates in Kerman, all ready for improvement.

In the end, he expressed his desire to sign MOUs and transfer of experiences between SBUK and South African Universities.

 

 

 

 

The South African Ambassador, William Max Philman Whitehead also thanked for the opportunity and said: I met with the governor general's deputy and became aware of Kerman's potential and strategic position. An advantage of Kerman is that it is near to Bandarabbas and this gives the province a good business situation. Human resources was also another potential for cooperation as he mentioned.
